slowly but surely, they are cleaning out items left behind by my grandmother who passed away four years ago and lots more items accumulated over the years. they are looking forward to getting their garage back.
just for kicks, I thought I'd offer these two items to my blog friends first. anyone interested in a handpainted dining table with chairs or a solid wood hutch? not that I think there are really that many people that read my blog but I know a few and some might be looking for an item such as one of these. you never know.
hutch $200
this is two pieces made of solid oak. the finish/color is dated but refinishing it and changing out the hardware would give it new life. there are three shelves in the upper portion with glass doors, each with a grove for displaying decorative plates. the bottom portion has two drawers and two shelves accessed by two wooden doors.

this is a vintage table and chair set that has been refinished and handpainted. the table can be set up three ways; round, oval with two additional leaves (included), or skinny with the two side leaves dropped. there are five matching armless chairs and one captains chair with arms. all items are painted in a creamy off white and treated with an anti-stain solution so food does not discolor tabletop. my mom has been using furniture polish to clean with great results. the leaves are stored in the table itself (see photos below) and have been painted to exactly match the table design when inserted. this is a one of a kind piece. my mom has renovated her dining and kitchen area and there just isn't room in the smaller space to keep such a large table.
