island partay

no, not that kind of island. vashon island. on a day that was wet, snowy (some places), and downright cold. not even close to that kind of island. but vashon is an island just the same. and we had a really good time!

I work with fiona. fiona and her husband rob live on vashon. fiona and rob's anniversary was on april 15. which also happens to be rob's birthday. some of fiona's family were also in town from britain and they decided to have a party.

fiona and rob are also in a band. they play surf rock mostly. like "wipeout" and other beachy tunes. they played a couple of sets during the party and they are really, really good. fiona shakes a mean tambourine.

the party was a potluck which I have decided is the best way to do a big party. there were so many different kinds of things to try which was nice. and, with people arriving at different times, the food arrival was also staggered and we never seemed to run out of something good to eat.

note to self: have more potlucks.

because of ferry schedules, our group left before the party really got started. or the paramedics were called, pick your description! turns out, fiona's sister fell and gashed her head open but no stitches were needed. good news: she was good as new on monday when I saw her again! bad news: I missed the hotness that is the vashon ambulance crew. maybe another party.

rob and fiona jamming.

the party crew: peter (mandy's boyfriend), mandy (I work with her), brianne (I work with her), me, and carol (I used to work with her)

the view from rob and fiona's backyard. almost like that kind of island. almost.

I love a good potluck! Your right...there's always something good to try and you never really run out of food.

That is an awesome view! How nice would it be to look at that everyday, even if it is in gray Seattle.

lisa: potlucks RULE!

marilyn: I know, that view is pretty sweet, isn't it? it would definitely lift my spirits during winter over here!
