the breakfast of champions

as I said before, breakfast at the salish lodge is quite the event. the special menu consists of four courses that just keep coming! our birthday girl last weekend was the special recipient of this breakfast and I've documented the processional for all to see.

beware: a trip for a salish breakfast might show up on your to-do list right quick after viewing this.

first course: berry parfait, baked goods assortment

second course: steel-cut oatmeal, apricot chutney with brown sugar

third course: freshly squeezed orange juice, eggs, bacon, ham, pork apple sausage, shoestring potatoes, biscuit with local honey (which is served in a way I can't even explain, you must see to believe)

fourth course: buttermilk pancakes with fresh maple syrup

note: the mimosas are fantastic and the coffee condiment bar is to die for!
(there is devonshire cream, real cream, shaved white and milk chocolate and sugar)

sorry for the blurry photos...I was rushing to take them before she dug in!

That looks so delicious, and very much like the breakfast I've had at the Columbia Gorge. They drizzled the honey from "the sky". Is that what they did at the Salish?

Brandon and I have always dreamed of staying at the Salish...someday.

whit...anytime, you come visit and I'll take you there!

brandon/marilyn...thanks for clarifying your identity, I was wondering who brandon is! yes, they drizzled the honey from the sky, so fun! I had never even been to salish before this but I'd love to go back and explore some more. I hear the room rates are pretty spendy though.

hai...we can still go but only if it fits into our schedule! ;-)
